Spökenkieker

Caspar Winkelsett (1778-1846)
The Spökenkieker, Caspar Winkelsett, lived in the 19th century. He was a brandy distiller and lived in today's "Burgkeller". His memorial stands at the Borgmühle, the bronze statue of Caspar Winkelsett looks out over the Stever and the new Borg.
The Spökenkieker had the gift of seeing into the future, he had what is known as second sight. He foresaw many things that would happen in the future. He foresaw the last town fire in 1832 (Lüdinghausen burned a total of six times) and the death of a child in the Mühlenkolk.
