Stever

The Stever connects towns and municipalities in western Münsterland over a length of 58 kilometers - from the source in the town of Nottuln to the mouth of the Lippe in Haltern am See.
The river also meanders through Lüdinghausen in various branches. There are over 50 bridges in Lüdinghausen that cross the Stever. The Stever flows through the town in three branches (Vischeringsche Stever, Mühlenstever, Ostenstever). Before the Vischeringsche Stever and the Mühlenstever join to form the Alte Stever in the south of the town center, the water of the Vischeringsche Stever feeds the moats of the moated castles of Vischering and Lüdinghausen. The Stever also flows around Kakesbeck Castle.
It shapes the entire townscape.
