The Biological Centre was created to turn nature into an experience and to sensitize everyone to active environmental protection. The Biological Center aims to invite, stimulate and inspire, provide impetus for new ideas and offer advice on garden planning and the ecological management of pests.

A walk through the spring or summer garden is a feast for the senses. You encounter blooming flowers, fragrant herbs, tasty fruit and vegetables. You get to know plants and animals that have become rare in the landscape but feel at home in the garden paradise at the Biological Center: Colorful meadow flowers, beetles and butterflies, frogs and dragonflies at the pond, birds and insects in species-rich hedges.

You can find out about practical nature conservation at the apiary or bat tunnel and take home ideas for natural garden design and organic cultivation methods. Children can discover the adventure stations and enjoy the wilderness in the creeping bushes. There is information, exhibitions and a small sales area in the straw and clay house.

In recent years, the herb garden has developed into an impressive collection of medicinal herbs, culinary herbs and useful plants. During a guided tour, participants learn about the role herbs played in earlier times in monastery medicine, as companions for people in everyday life or in foreign cultures and what useful things we can learn from them for our modern lives.

Garden tours or herbal seminars for groups can be booked by calling 02591 / 4129.

Gardens open: Mondays to Fridays, 9 am - 4 pm (not open during the Christmas vacations and on public holidays)
