Steverland route
The family cycle path
The family cycle path leads through the typical Münsterland landscape: from the source region at the foot of the Baumberge past watermills and beautiful old farmsteads to moated castles and nature reserves such as the Rieselfeldern in Appelhülsen and the Steveraue near Olfen.
Children can explore the route with their own cycle route map, "collect" coins and solve puzzles, while adults can find out more about the history of the river in the accompanying book or on the information boards. You can discover, try out and picnic together at the interactive stations.
The route can be ridden on the signposted cycle path network as a route tour between the source region in Nottuln and the mouth of the Lippe near Haltern am See. It is then around 70 km long.
However, it also offers many entry and combination options. Four family-friendly, easy to moderately difficult stages with circular routes and detours are described both here and in the book accompanying the cycle route. There is always a train station nearby.
What makes it special? There is always a little "extra" nearby: the highest point in Münsterland, a moor, a castle, a museum or a natural swimming pool ... and the children are always well catered for!
