WARK Rocinha makes Lüdinghausen colorful

Brunnenhof, Borg staircase to Langenbrückenstraße

The Brazilian street artist WARK Rocinha is beautifying Lüdinghausen's city center with his very special art. He has also colorfully designed the Brunnenhof - with his unmistakable angel (his motto is: Everyone can be an angel of someone else) and Lüdinghausen motifs.

This was made possible to a large extent by funding from the "Immediate action program to strengthen inner cities and centers in NRW" and corresponding own funds from the town of Lüdinghausen. Wark Rocinha has immortalized the Spökenkieker at the entrance from the Borg to Langenbrückenstraße. This project was made possible by the Lüdinghausen Community Foundation and private sponsors.

Life in the favela

WARK Rocinha, whose real name is Marcos Rodrigo, lives in the Favela da Rocinha in Rio de Janeiro. He has been spraying since he was around 15 years old. People like his comic-style graffiti angels so much that he also receives commissions outside Rocinha and is invited to exhibit his work in galleries. WARK Rocinha finances the construction of his new art school through his work, also abroad, where he gives voluntary art courses to children from the favela. The favela de Rocinha, where the 37-year-old lives, is a difficult neighborhood where children often grow up without opportunities or prospects.
