A warm welcome for new residents

A warm welcome to Lüdinghausen
New citizens are welcomed to the town of Lüdinghausen in a very special way. This applies both to the youngest, who become Lüdinghausen residents at birth, and to those who decide to move to our beautiful town in the course of their lives.
As a small welcome gift, all newborns receive a small cuddly bunny cloth from the town of Lüdinghausen. Christiane Kersting and Dagmar Stein have the lovely task of lovingly wrapping the blankets and sending them to the children's parents. A congratulatory card from Mayor Ansgar Mertens is also enclosed. He wishes the young family all the best for their first time together.
The town council also welcomes new arrivals to Lüdinghausen and Seppenrade. "The door to the town hall is open for all your questions," emphasizes Mertens. As an initial guide, everyone receives a welcome folder when they register their residence at the Citizens' Office. Among other things, the folder contains a city map, brochures on cycle paths and culture and small souvenirs from the city administration. This allows new residents to plan their first excursions in Lüdinghausen and Seppenrade. Highlights include the rose garden, the moated castles and Lüdinghausen's old town. Those who prefer to discover the town on a guided tour also have the opportunity to do so. In March, the city offered an evening city tour with night watchman Christoph Davids for all citizens who moved to Lüdinghausen or Seppenrade in 2021 or 2022. The tour met with a great deal of interest and the participants spent a few enjoyable hours getting to know the town from a different perspective.
In the summer, a bike tour is to be organized for all new cycling enthusiasts together with the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club (ADFC). This is an opportunity to get to know beautiful routes in Lüdinghausen and fits in with the administration's commitment to strengthening cycling. Mertens would already like to cordially invite all interested new citizens to take part.
"It is important to us that you feel at home in Lüdinghausen and Seppenrade right from the start," emphasizes Mertens. "If you have any questions or would like to get involved in what is happening in our town, you are welcome to contact my employees or me directly at any time. Our town thrives on great cooperation and we welcome everyone who wants to get involved - in whatever way. Together, we can achieve the best for Lüdinghausen and Seppenrade." Anja Kleykamp
