Sundays open for business
Lüdinghausen invites visitors to open Sundays four times a year, traditionally on the first Sunday in January for the Westphalian winter market, on the last weekend in April for the Lüdinghausen Spring, on the third weekend in September for the town festival Sunday and on the first weekend in November for the potato festival. The stores open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a colorful program awaits visitors in the town.

Westphalian winter market: The Westphalian winter market marks the start of the open-air season and heralds the new year of events in Lüdinghausen. Every first Sunday of the year, many market traders cavort in the streets and alleyways of the old town with a range of typical winter goods, handicrafts and market novelties. Visitors can look forward to culinary delights including typical regional dishes such as kale, potato pancakes and baked ham. To ensure that guests don't get cold, mulled wine and other hot drinks are available alongside beer and non-alcoholic beverages. There is also a children's carousel for younger visitors. The retailers open their stores in the afternoon (1-6 p.m.) and have the first spring collection ready in addition to the many special offers.

Lüdinghauser Frühling: Around the fourth Sunday in April, Lüdinghauser Frühling attracts visitors to the old town and offers a French gourmet market from Friday (until Sunday)! Oh là là! Market, music and togetherness is the motto on Sunday on the market square and throughout the city center. Numerous traders set up stalls and present their wares at the big spring bazaar. Visitors will be spoiled with culinary delights and drinks at numerous stalls and booths. In addition, the retailers invite you to stroll and store in the stores on Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm.

City festival: When the big city festival takes place in Lüdinghausen in September, the Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. is a must. There is also the town festival market, which invites you to haggle and browse. A colorful program on the two event stages rounds off the city festival Sunday. In the Borg and on the town hall square, there is also plenty of play equipment to discover, which invites you to crawl under, run around, climb on or play with each other.

Potato festival: Everything revolves around our favorite tuber at the potato festival in November. An autumn market invites you to stroll and store from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., there are culinary delights with and without potatoes and much more to discover. Lüdinghausen's stores also open their doors again from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and have special promotions and offers in store for visitors. The little ones can romp around in the straw arena or take a few laps on the carousel. The potato festival traditionally kicks off a week in advance with the "culinary potato week". The restaurateurs participating in this event each contribute a potato dish to an exquisite selection. The respective potato dish can then only be sampled in one of the Lüdinghausen restaurants.
